Perfect Day 24-7™ Short Instructions
This form differs from the usual To Do list in several ways.
Half Hour of Power. Get yourself in a good frame for the day.
--First, ask yourself a list of empowering questions such as “What am I thankful for?” “Why am I so lucky?” “What am I happy about?”, “How am I getting healthy and enjoying it?”, etc.
Take a moment and find answers to these leading questions. Design questions that will lead you to empowering answers.
--Install your goals with NLP (more on this later).
--Review your goals and fill out your form with things to do today that advance that goal.
--Meditate for a few minutes and think of nothing but breathing, and let your brain reset for the day.
Goals You will need goals to use the form. If you don’t have any find a book or tape on how to set your goals. Most people with goals will have goals in the following 4 categories: health, wealth, love/relationships, and one or more special projects (website, new business, book, vacation, education). There are two types of tasks under each goal: tasks that you do each day to advance that goal. For example, for health, maybe eating oatmeal, or walking a mile each day. For wealth, maybe updating your list of expenses or putting a small amount each day into savings, investing, and charity cans. The second type of tasks are the ones that come from your half hour of power, from brainstorming about your goals as you prepare the form for the day.
Catch-all items at the bottom Errands that must be done that might not particularly advance a goal. You want to have many more tasks under goals than in this catch-all list. You might also want to keep track of errands from prior days (and maybe discard them if possible), list the biggest procrastination item that’s burning up your emotional energy, or list habits that you’d like to work on. Or leave the whole section blank and add another goal in that space.
A Perfect Day is one where you accomplished every task under your goal for that day, or at least every repetitive task (you decide). Mark the number of perfect days you have achieved in the “#__” item at the top.
It also helps to bind 3 or 6 months of forms into a binder.
Adapt the form to your use. Everyone has a different life and needs a different daily plan. The main ideas are: 1) take time in the AM or PM (the night before) to brainstorm your goals, ask yourself empowering questions, and prepare yourself and your day; 2) make to-do lists that advance each goal; and 3) doing something each day on each goal.
Useful information acknowledgements: Bandler and Grinder for NLP, Tony Robbins for the morning questions, RichDad (Robert Kiyosaki) for the 3 can saving/investing/charity idea. I learned many things from these people and you might find their work useful also. Thank you. Bill
